My name is Maddox, and I am a 30-year-old from Lebanon. I am reaching out with a desperate plea for help in the midst of unimaginable hardship. Ten years ago, I lost my father, and from that day, I took on the responsibility of caring for my mother and four family members. Life in Lebanon has always been challenging, but now, with the eruption of war with Israel, things have gone from difficult to unbearable.

The only functioning city in my country, Beirut, has been destroyed, and with it, our hope for survival has crumbled. We have lost our income, our stability, and even our access to basic necessities like food and shelter. I have fought to keep my family afloat, but this war has left us completely powerless.

To add to these challenges, I have also faced severe sectarian persecution throughout my life because I do not belong to the dominant religion. I am part of a small spiritual minority, following beliefs similar to Buddhism. In every workplace I entered, I was met with mistreatment by Muslims who despised me for my beliefs. The discrimination was relentless, and finding a job where I could be treated with dignity was nearly impossible. Even before the war, poverty was a constant burden because I had to avoid workplaces dominated by people who viewed me with hatred.

Media outlets, such as Al Jazeera, even broadcasted hate against people like me, encouraging violence against us. Videos of this hatred are still available online. All of these circumstances have left me and my family in desperate need of help.

We have lost everything. We need support to afford basic necessities—food, rent, and a safe place to live. I am reaching out, hoping that someone, somewhere, might hear our plea and help us survive these dark and trying times. Your generosity could be the difference between life and death for my family.
